IS THIS PROGRAM FREE?
Yes, we are a TK-12th grade, public charter school approved by Adelanto Elementary School District. We are publicly funded like traditional schools and do not charge tuition for attendance and participation in our homeschool model.

Yes, Taylion is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
WHAT IS THE PERSONALIZED LEARNING PROGRAM?
The TK-8 Personalized Learning Program (PLP) provides a tailored educational experience for students in grades TK-8. Operating under our homeschool independent study model, students enjoy the flexibility of learning from home at their own pace. They also have the opportunity to engage in virtual classes through Taylion Homeschool or participate in classes offered by community providers, either virtually or in-person. Our dedicated Taylion Educators collaborate closely with parents and students to craft personalized learning plans that align with each student’s unique strengths, skills, needs, and interests. We offer accelerated support for students performing above grade level, as well as research-based programs for those needing additional assistance.

WHAT DOES A CARE TEAM MEETING LOOK LIKE?
A Care Team meeting is just as it sounds. A meeting with the student, Taylion Educator, and the Parent/Guardian. At this meeting, the Taylion Educator evaluates the student’s work to track progress towards their personalized learning goals. Engaging the student in enjoyable educational activities allows for informal assessment of their comprehension, with support offered to address any areas needing improvement. The Taylion Educator works closely with the student and parent to strategize for the upcoming learning period, assigning lessons and activities aimed at fostering ongoing development and achievement. Ultimately, the Care Team meeting fosters collaboration and support, dedicated to advancing the student’s academic journey and ensuring their success.
DO TAYLION EDUCTORS GATHER WORK SAMPLES?
Yes, Taylion Educators collect samples of student work to create a thorough assessment of their progress and accomplishments. These samples serve as proof of learning and are essential for customizing instruction to fit each student’s specific needs. Moreover, they aid in monitoring student growth and development across time.
DO YOU OFFER ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN PERSONALIZED LEARNING PROGRAM (PLP)?
Yes, we provide enrichment classes for students enrolled in the PLP. Students can engage in a diverse range of enrichment activities, such as virtual classes with Taylion and virtual/in-person classes offered by community providers in our local areas of service. These classes are crafted to enhance the personalized learning journey, offering students extra chances to explore their interests and talents.
CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN CURRICULUM?
Of course! You have the freedom to select your curriculum in partnership with your assigned Taylion Educator. We offer a range of resources to assist you in researching and choosing the curriculum that best fits your requirements and preferences. These resources empower you to make educated decisions about your curriculum selections, ensuring they align with your learning objectives and preferences.
WHAT ARE THE INSTRUCTIONAL FUNDS AMOUNTS FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR?
For a student who is enrolled into Taylion Homeschool for the entire school year, Taylion provides educational funds for TK-12 grade students. Please note that if students enroll throughout the school year and not the full school year, then funds will be on a depreciation schedule.
HOW CAN I USE MY INSTRUCTIONAL FUNDS?
Your educational funds can support your learning needs and enrich your educational journey. Here are examples of how you can utilize these funds:
- School Supplies: Use your funds to purchase essential school supplies listed by our school.
- Educational Materials: Acquire textbooks, workbooks, novels, and digital resources that align with your curriculum.
- Online Subscriptions: Subscribe to online educational platforms or digital resources to supplement your learning.
- Field Trips: Cover expenses for educational field trips that enhance your learning beyond the classroom.
- Supplemental Materials: Purchase science lab kits, art supplies, and manipulatives to enhance your studies.
Please note, items purchased using educational funds are school property and may need to be returned if you leave or graduate, excluding consumable items. For guidance on using your funds or eligible purchases, please consult your Taylion Educator.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES WILL MY STUDENT(S) HAVE FOR IN-PERSON ENGAGEMENT?
Students can engage in face-to-face interactions through virtual or in-person classes offered by community providers in our local areas that we currently serve. Additionally, students may choose to take part in local events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities organized by Taylion Educators and our community partners.
DO YOU SUPPORT STUDENTS THAT HAVE A 504 PLAN OR IEP?
Of course! At Taylion Homeschool we provide wrap-around services for students with 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
WHAT DOES THE HIGH SCHOOL MODEL AT TAYLION HOMESCHOOL LOOK LIKE?
The Personalized Learning Program (PLP) in the High School program centers on their instructional methods and engagement approaches. PLP delivers a personalized learning experience featuring a mix of live in-house instruction, community provider options, and concurrent enrollment opportunities.
DOES TAYLION OFFER A DUAL ENROLLMENT WITH OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGES?
Yes, Taylion Homeschool provides dual enrollment opportunities with nearby community colleges. This enables high school students to earn college credits alongside their high school coursework. Dual enrollment offers students an early introduction to college and can be a cost-effective way to accelerate their academic path. Our Taylion Educators are available to offer assistance and advice in choosing dual enrollment pathways that match students’ academic and career aspirations.

IS TAYLION HOMESCHOOL IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NATIONAL COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION?
Yes, Taylion Homeschool adheres to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations for student-athletes. We offer support and guidance to students interested in collegiate sports, including help with meeting NCAA eligibility criteria, collaborating with coaches and recruiters, and navigating the college recruitment journey.
DOES TAYLION HOMESCHOOL OFFER ANY CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION PATHWAYS?
Yes, we offer a variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway options for high school students. These pathways are designed to equip students with specialized skills and knowledge in specific career fields.

WILL MY STUDENT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLUBS, PROM, OR SCHOOL MEETUPS?
Of course! We provide a range of activities and social opportunities for high school students, such as Prom, High School Meetups, college tours, career-focused field trips, volunteer opportunities, beach bonfires, etc. These activities allow students to foster community connections, create lasting memories, and participate in social and extracurricular experiences beyond the classroom.
WILL THERE BE ANY HELP IN FILLING OUT COLLEGE APPLICATIONS?
Yes, we offer guidance and support to students throughout the college application process. Our Taylion Educators and Counselors assist with selecting colleges, preparing application materials, writing essays, requesting letters of recommendation, and navigating financial aid options (FAFSA). We are dedicated to helping students reach their post-secondary goals and transition smoothly to college or other educational pathways.
